Snake Sanctuary and Rescue
Shady's Serpents is one of the first organizations of its kind. We are dedicated to taking care of snakes and teaching the public about them to reduce prejudice, fear and confusion about these amazing reptiles.
Why?
The need for public education and the need for homes for these reptiles is rising. When we do our absolute best to educate the public about snakes, while at the same time placing snakes in good homes, we create a bit more of a positive impact on the reptile world. And even the smallest impact is worth it when it comes to the lives of animals, and the people that love them.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Services
RESCUE
We take in surrendered snakes from their owners or other rescues, and then do our absolute best to rehabilitate them. Once deemed fit and adoptable, we search for a suitable owner, and the snakes are rehomed to start a better life.
SANCTUARY
If a snake can not be adopted out for whatever reason, they stay with us without a problem, or placed into a special foster home. No snake will go without proper care here.
EDUCATION
On top of rescuing and re-homing, we offer various types of education for the public. Fear-management classes, one on one experiences with the snakes, day camps and more.
Get Involved
Consider helping out! Being a rescue, Shady's Serpents depends largely on donations and public support to keep us going! Every donation goes straight to the snakes. Replacing or adding tanks, feed, supplies and other costs. Please consider making a supply or cash donation, or sharing our page on Facebook to let others know what we do!
